Content Strategy for Women in Technical Communication
|
Along with a team of five other women, I was lucky enough to create and curate the content strategy for the startup organization Women in Technical Communication. This was a huge undertaking, as Women in TC had not even determined what kind of content management system they wanted to use for their website. After Skyping in on discussions with our clients, we determined what kind of tone and style the website, workflow and social media should look like for this organization.
The content strategy document was a beast of 33 pages and included website design, site maps, wireframes and a style guide to accompany the website and any external documents that were sent out. We also determined best practices for SEO and determined what kind of accessibility would be feasible to remain loyal to their mission of inclusivity. With our knowledge of the "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines," we were able to give suggestions on how they would be able to showcase their work to all users. Along with that, we created a social media strategy including tone and voice for each platform, campaigns and an editorial calendar for the manager. This rounded out all of the requirements for our strategy and you can now check out the official website for Women in Technical Communication here. |
