Grant Proposal for the Entertainment Software AssociationWhile working in Rick Foster's Grant Writing and Fundraising task, I was afforded the opportunity to write a grant for an arts and culture project. Along with a team of four other members, we designed a project where we would renovate two activity centers, one in Gary, Indiana and the other in Detroit, Michigan. The idea for this grant was to get children in low-income areas to find a safe space for doing homework, creating art and learning about technology.
We applied for the grant through the Entertainment Software Association in order to attain funds to renovate the Joy-Southfield Community Center in Gary and the Ambridge Mann Community Center in Detroit. With donations from Google Education and the grant, children in these areas could utilize the space in order to find quiet time and also have functioning wifi, a must within the school system these days. With extensive research on the needs of these communities, the state that the community centers were in and how we could receive donations from Google Education, the grant was a beast of a project but a great experience in writing a fully formatted document. |
